CASCO BELLE, is a well loved and equally well maintained example of the Eastbay 39. Owned by a very experienced yachtsman, she has been thoughtfully upgraded and kept in inside heated storage in the off season by both the current and prior owner. Equipped with bow and stern thrusters and with the upgraded Cummins QSC 490 hp engines and 2018 electronics and other upgrades.
The Eastbay 39 is a delight to be on board of either underway or at mooring/anchor. Quiet and stable at a full 80% load cruise of 25 knots, with an abundance of natural light and ventilation with six opening ports and three large hatches all with screens and with the helm deck/salon being completely surrounded with large windows, two of them large sliders and centerline opening windshield. Interior joiner work is polyurethaned with several coats including the teak and holly soles.
When natural ventilation is not sufficient there are two units of reverse cycle (heat and cool) air conditioning to keep the yacht comfortable in a wide range of climates and seasons. Artificial lighting is equally well thought out with numerous overhead recessed lights as well as swivel style reading lamps at all berths and settees. These were all converted to LED lighting in 2019.
Accommodations are for four, with a single stateroom layout with Island Queen berth and 7' settee that can be made down into a double berth. Starting forward is the Private Stateroom with island queen berth, three cargo drawers below. Outboard the yacht is richly finished with teak "ceilings" lining the hull and additional storage cabinets and lockers Port and Starboard.
Next aft is the lower Salon & Galley with over sized U-shaped settee to port with storage under and in lockers outboard and above. Dining is from a varnished teak pedestal table that drops on an electric hi/lo activator to form a filler when its use as a berth is desired. Opposite to starboard is the Galley featuring Corian counter tops. Refrigerated food stuffs are handled in the below counter, front load dual voltage fridge/freezer. Cooking is managed on a 2 burner Princess cook top and the Sharp convection microwave. Good storage in the associated lockers and drawers, of note are additional non standard lockers at eye level.
The enclosed Head is next aft to starboard with Vacuflush fresh water W.C., separate shower area with curved Plexiglas sliding door and vanity with Corian counter top and under-mounted sink.
Up three steps (with storage under) to the Helm Deck/Salon. CASCO BELLE features Stidd Seats for Capt. and Companion, an L-settee aft and to port with storage under and the optional entertainment system to port TV, Bose Blue tooth capable AM/FM/Stereo, and KVH and Direct TV entertainment receiver.
Gracious access to the cockpit with molded in forward facing bench sea which is equipped with pneumatic struts for easy lifting to access storage under; and ice maker to port forward adjacent to an aft facing bench. Wide side decks with tall safety rails and gates P&S lead forward. Moving about the yacht is easy underway or at anchor.
All electronics are located at the helm station starboard side.
This Eastbay 39 features the upgraded twin Cummins 490 QSC diesels in lieu of the standard, turning five bladed 26X35.5" propellers on 2" shafts through 2:1 gears. The hour meters show 1166 hours as of date of layup fall of 2022. The cruising speed of 25 knots as noted in the preliminary data is at 80% load, the current owners prefer a more moderate cruising speed of 20-22 knots.
Wired for 12 Volt DC and 110 Volt AC service. When off the dock heavier loads are managed by an Onan 9kw generator showing 1019 hours at time of fall layup. Lower level off the dock loads are managed by a Mastervolt 2500 Watt inverter. This system was added in 2020
12 Volt DC:
110 Amp AC:
Fiberglass hull built with Hydrex resin in the exterior laminates with closed cell foam coring in the hull and solid fiberglass bottom. The hull has her original Flag Blue Gel-Coat kept nicely buffed out/waxed with Awl grip boot stripe and gold cove stripe. The bottom is painted with medium blue epoxy anti-fouling, showing only nominal build up. Foam cored fiberglass decks and house with "Moon Dust" Awlgrip nonskid, where appropriate, on white gel coat with teak overlay in the cockpit.
Exclusions: Dinghy, art work, and personal possessions. The current owners have not used any of the video entertainment system and do not warrant its operation.
The Eastbay 39s are highly regarded for, not only their comfort and classic good looks, but their impressive sea keeping abilities as well. This particular example has been nicely cared for and has been kept in inside heated storage in the off season under the current and immediate prior owners and, we believe by all owners (3).
