2002 Oyster 56
$ 560,000 USD

Annapolis MD 21403 USA
The Oyster 56 'Liberty' is a superb example of Oyster's most successful Oyster 56 series and fully equipped for long distance offshore sailing. Her experienced owners have maintained the boat well and added extra upgrades such as wind generators and solar panels to make her even more self-reliant. All navigation systems have been upgraded in 2017 - 2022.
Liberty, originally named 'Avolore,' was built in 2002 and is the 25th example of Oyster's iconic model. The current owners are the fourth owners who purchased her in 2017 through YachtSalesInternational.com. They spent four years updating the boat, learning her systems and finding their sea legs in preparation for their 2022-2023 Oyster World Rally around-the-world cruise. After completing their journey in March 2023, Liberty returned to Annapolis and now awaits her new owners who would like to enjoy the cruising lifestyle and endless adventures as they sail offshore.
Liberty is a proven offshore cruising boat, sensibly priced and ideally equipped for anyone planning on short-handed sailing on either long distant offshore or coastal cruising passages. With a wealth of updated equipment and plenty of spare parts on board, Liberty is ready to put to sea again. If you are planning your next adventure in the near future, Liberty should be on the top of your list.
The interior is designed to be modern and coordinated, while remaining practical and durable at sea. There are six berths in three cabins, excluding the saloon. Essential features include sculpted fiddles and grabrails, 'shadow-gap' joints between panels, and Oyster custom knobs for lockers and drawers.
The forward double cabin is a spacious double cabin in the bow with centerline double berth, an upholstered seat with vanity table, plentiful clothes drawers and hanging locker. The deck is accessible via the forehatch. The port forward twin cabin has upper and lower berths, lockers for clothes, a vanity unit and hanging locker, laundry bin, and extra custom-made cupboards to increase storage. The forward cabins share a forward head, a large WC compartment to starboard, accessed from the passageway, incorporating an electric Jabsco Quiet flush toilet, washbasin and separate shower stall. The aft cabin owner's stateroom is configured with a double berth offset from the centerline, a curved settee, dressing table and a large hanging locker, with abundant drawer and locker space and a Gardall safe. From this cabin there is access to the aft head, and through to the galley to port. The en suite head/shower incorporates an electric Jabsco Quiet flush toilet, washbasin, and separate shower stall.
The galley is to port, in the companionway to the aft cabin. Countertops are in scratch resistant laminate.
The saloon features an oval table and semi-circular settee area to port, outboard of which are a pair of lockers and a central shelf to the hullport. To starboard is another settee. There is ample space for glass stowage forward of the starboard settee and bottle stowage below the saloon table. Leather seating in Connolly Leather Blue Wentworth.
The navigation area is at starboard aft end of the saloon, with a forward-facing chart table. The table can accommodate a half-folded Admiralty chart and there is a good bookshelf outboard of this. AC and DC electrical panels are located overhead, above and behind the navigator's seat.
The aft starboard cabin (sized for 2 berths) has been converted to a workshop with a stainless steel workbench with tool drawers, bench vise, storage spaces, and a paper chart drawer. This area has direct and large access to the engine room.
