Accommodations

LAYOUT:

Draagen's hard bulk headed salon allows the deck cabin to be both open and/or air conditioned. Like many Downeast boats of this size, Draagen has it's galley and dining accommodations situated in the salon. Forward to starboard is the helm, which has a comfortable cushioned swiveling helm seat that provides an almost 360 view. To port is a two person forward facing cushioned bench seat. Behind it is the cleverly designed dinette that slides out and widens to accommodate 6 persons or electrically lowers to convert to a double berth. The galley is aft to starboard with a solid surface countertop, double Stainless Steel sink, built in microwave oven, three burner propane cooktop and built-in refrigerator. Aft to port is a built-in ice maker. The cabin sole is a teak and holly sole that raises electrically to access the engine compartment.

The master bow stateroom is down a couple of steps from the salon and has a rich look with plenty of teak and cherry veneers. In the bow, a drop in cushion insert converts the V-berth to a large double for sleeping. A hanging locker, row of drawers and built-in vacuum unit are aft to port with a stowage shelf in the forepeak. A number of ports and hatches provide good ventilation and light. Aft to starboard is the enclosed head with shower and fresh water vacuum head. The comfortably sized room is constructed of a solid surface for easy maintenance and cleaning.

Salesman's Comments

Draagen posses many of Downeast vessel's traditional excellent handling and economical efficiency. Powered by the Yanmar 6 cylinder, 480 hp turbo diesel and with the relatively lightweight, 15,000 lb. displacement, Draagen cruises economically at 20 mph with a top speed near 25 mph. Fuel burn at 10 mph is below 3 gph and 11 gph at cruising speed, which provides you with a theoretical cruising range of 400 miles with the 226 gal. fuel capacity. Stainless steel replaces hand rails, trim and other elements typically made of wood, reducing required maintenance. The huge partially covered cockpit is a great place to launch all the water toys or just sit and enjoy the outside.

There are considerable spare parts (list available) aboard Draagen, as well as an exclusion list. The bottom was sanded, two coats of Petit bottom paint applied in 9/2022. Please refer to maintenance log for details on the excellent maintenance program this vessel has had with the current owner.
