Welcome aboard the 2004 62 Neptunus “NOVA-KANE”. She represents a fantastic value in the mid-sized motor yacht market. The Neptunus brand is well known throughout yachting circles as a premium brand, family-oriented motor yacht. Neptunus offers versatile layouts that are semi-custom to the original builder. “NOVA KANE” was custom built by her original owner (a repeat Neptunus customer), to feature two main staterooms, an open, convertible bunk bed/ sitting room and a full, on-board office. The office could also be converted into a twin berth state room with plans available. The custom office layout was incredibly valuable during Covid times and holds great value to liveaboard and cruising owners that still need the ability to work remote. Her custom family friendly layout is again on display in the galley. Elimination of a large, rarely used lower helm station allows for a huge country kitchen style galley. Well-traveled and meticulously maintained, a great deal of her life was spent being used by the original owners on the fresh waters of the great lakes. Her current owner is only the second in the lifetime of NOVA KANE and has continued to maintain and improve her at every turn. If you are in the market for a premium brand, mid-size motor yacht that has great family and cruising capabilities than look no further than the 2004 62 Neptunus “NOVA KANE”. Below please find a list of her highlights that helps to make her a can’t miss opportunity.
The boarding of NOVA KANE is easily accomplished from the hydraulic swim platform if at a floating dock, or from either port or starboard aft deck gates if at a fixed dock. Once aboard you will see that the aft deck is laid out very comfortably. There is a fixed settee aft with a two-pedestal dining table. This makes for a nice alfresco dining spot or morning coffee area. She has walk around side decks to allow for easy couples’ line handling and safe transit to the bow. There are stainless steel safety gates aft both port and starboard for access down to the hydraulic swim platform. To starboard there is a stairwell in lieu of a ladder for a comfortable climb to the flybridge. To port there is a wet bar and grill. Centerline in the teak sole is a hatch for engine room access. Finally you can enter the main salon through a stainless-steel trim sliding glass door. Additional aft deck highlights include:
Upon entering the salon, you can’t help but notice the beauty, space, and social layout. The interior wood is a lightly stained cherry. The interior décor is both nautical and tasteful. The salon feels open and airy thanks to large dual level windows for ample natural lighting.
Immediately to starboard there is a large L shaped salon sofa done in blue ultra-leather. The sofa offers dual electric recliners at either end with storage in the middle. To port there is a corner chair, 32” Samsung pop-up flat screen TV, neatly concealed wet bar sink and excellent storage. Additional main salon features include:
Just two steps up from the salon is the open concept galley and raised dinette. The lack of partition or partial bulkhead allows for the galley and salon to be part of one large, social entertaining deck. The galley space and functionality is greatly enhanced by the elimination of a full lower helm station. Instead, when custom built, the owner opted for a huge “country kitchen” style galley with the addition of a large dinette forward. The dinette can comfortably seat at least 5 and provides the primary indoor dining location. The table is high gloss burlwood with cherry trim. Neatly disguised in a flip up cabinet between the dinette and the stbd galley sink is a discrete basic lower helm control station with gears, throttles, thrusters, VHF radio and basic electronics. Natural light is plentiful from the forward windows also offering a nice view underway. This custom galley arrangement maximizes counter space and storage while offering a social gathering point for owners and guests. She has everything a shipboard gourmet would require including:
Port side forward, outboard of the dinette is the companionway leading down to the lower accommodations. A carpeted semi spiral staircase will lead us below to the lower foyer. To port along the stairway is the vessel’s main electrical distribution panel. Once down below there is natural light provided by an overhead skylight. The foyer is wide open and offers a sitting room that converts to a set of bunk beds. To starboard we have the full shipboard office. Just forward to port there is a Bosch washer and dryer. Continuing forward is the VIP stateroom. Aft of the foyer is the full beam master stateroom.
Once down below in the foyer there is an open sitting room area to port with a large sofa. With some pretty ingenious and simple engineering this sofa can be converted to two large upper and lower bunks. Compartments are opened, cushions are added to create a 6’3” upper berth and a 6’4” lower berth. This versatile area is perfect for children but more than capable to sleep two adults when necessary. There is a porthole by the upper berth for natural light if desired, if not there is a shade and 4 LED overhead lights. Additional storage is provided under the lower berth. Bilge access to water pumps and shower sump is available through a cut out carpeted hatch in the foyer sole.
Across the foyer to starboard is the full-size shipboard office. The office arrangement was a factory option in lieu of a full 3rd stateroom. Plans are available to convert the office into a side-by-side twin berth stateroom if desired. For the original owner and current owner, the versatility of the conversion bunk bed sitting room with a true shipboard office was the preferred layout. The ability to close an office door, provides true privacy and the ability to get real work done remotely while enjoying exotic remote travel or simple shipboard life. Office amenities include:
Continuing forward on “NOVA KANE” will bring us to the VIP Stateroom in the forepeak of the vessel. The centerline island queen berth has an upholstered headboard over a mirrored panel and a set of decorative reading lights. The bed is flanked by cherrywood nightstands and countertops. To port we find a double door cedar lined hanging locker and private access to the VIP head which also doubles as the day head. To starboard we have a sit-down mirrored vanity with single drawer and stool. Above the vanity there is an 18” Samsung LED TV with a Blue ray player and Direct TV sat receiver enclosed in a cabinet. Also, to stbd is a second double door cedar line hanging locker. Additional VIP stateroom features include:
While moving forward from the foyer to the VIP stateroom we pass to port the companionway access for the forward head. This head also offers private access from the VIP. Head features include:
Located aft of the foyer is the full beam master stateroom. The doorway has a decorative cherry trimmed archway. The master island queen berth sits centerline with a 4-panel beveled mirror and upholstered headboard. Matching brass sconce lamps and decorative reading lights grace each side of the bed with cherry night stands below. To starboard outboard there is a cherry dresser with 6 drawers and a cedar lined hanging locker aft. Located above the dresser in the hull side is a large window for natural light and roman shade. Forward to starboard is the private access to the master head. To port aft we have a high gloss cherry wood cedar line hanging locker with hull side window and shade treatments above. Just forward there is a set of three cherry storage drawers. And kiddie corner port side forward there is a sit-down mirrored vanity station. Above the vanity station is a 21” Samsung LED TV, blue ray player and direct TV receiver. Additional master stateroom highlights include:
The private master head is located starboard side forward. It’s features include:
The Flybridge aboard NOVA KANE is easily accessed via the comfortable stairway leading up from the at deck. A great number of yachts this size only offer a more dangerous and difficult to navigate ladder to get to the bridge. Once up top you can’t help but notice the spacious arrangement. Another feature aboard NOVA KANE whose importance cannot be overstated is the hardtop feature. It is commonplace, especially by the European manufacturers, to equip their boats with open air soft Bimini tops. Fine for fair-weather day trips, they offer no weather protection or climate control. The factory designed and integrated hard top onboard the 62 Neptunus NOVA KANE offers the best of all worlds including, sun protection, isinglass foul weather protection, air conditioning and climate controls, removable and zipper panels for open fresh air and a platform for mounting necessary shipboard equipment.
The layout features a large U shaped seating area aft with painted table. Just forward to port is an upholstered lounge pad with large storage compartment beneath. To starboard we have an electric grill and wet bar station with stainless steel sink, Corian counter, Norcold refrigerator and storage locker. Our helm station is just forward of the wetbar to starboard. There is a double STIDD helm seat and a full compliment of navigation electronics. To port is another double STIDD companion seat and co pilot station with additional navigation systems. Located between the two stations is a zip out section of Isinglass that creates a walkthrough to a beautiful sun lounge area forward of the helm. This area has its own set of canvas to cover up cushions when not in use. The full compliment of flybridge equipment and electronics is as follows:

The power on board the 2004 62 Neptunus “NOVA-KANE” is the highly desirable Catepillar C-18 package. Well know for reliability and life expectancy, these C-18 have received diligent maintenance over the years. She currently has approx 3600 original hours with a great deal of those hours spent in the fresh waters of the great lakes. She has received multiple proper 1000-hour service intervals with the latest coming in June 2021. At this time her cooling system was serviced and after cooler cores replaced new per CAT factory guidelines. Additional engine room equipment includes:
The boat is a composite construction using Kevlar Hybrid materials for superior strength and puncture resistance. Six longitudinal foam stringers and 20 transverse foam stringers enclosed with stitched woven roving, reinforce the entire hull bottom. The hull sides are cored. The engine room stringers run from stern to bow with steel top plates for engine mounting. The Deep Vee Hull has been designed to ensure a vessel with excellent sea keeping qualities. Special attention has been given to a ratio between installed power, speed and fuel consumption.
