Introduced in 1994, the Eastbay 38 Express launched Grand Banks in a completely new direction. She was the first in a rapidly evolving series of Eastbay yachts whose classic Downeast lines and Hunt-designed hulls were a departure from Grand Bank’s previous trawler heritage. The quality and care with which the Eastbay 38 EX was constructed is clearly evident from her varnished teak toerails to her finely finished interior. Stepping up from the large cockpit, the 38’s expansive helm deck includes a bench seat and teak table to port and a custom Stidd chair at the helm. Forward, the main cabin features a full-service galley to port and convertible U-shaped seating opposite. The head/shower is located to port on the way to the master stateroom which was available with standard V-berths or a center island berth. Accessing the engine room is made easy with the assistance of power-assist deck hatch. A transom door and teak swim platform were standard. The 38 HX model has a hardtop and semi-enclosed helm deck. Over 130 were built.

Exquisite both inside and out, one only has to step onboard the Eastbay 38 to immediately appreciate the fine craftsmanship and the well thought out layout. The cockpit features a built in sofa style seat with a removable oval teak table. A transom door leads out onto the large swim platform.
Stepping up and onto the bridge deck where the hard top and removable aft enclosure creates additional living space in any weather. Here you will find a large L shape settee with teak table. The helm seat has space for two. Additional storage is located here as well.
Below decks is impressive with rich teak and mahogany finishes. The good sized Galley is to port and there is a U Style Settee and Dining area to starboard. Next forward is the Head with separate Shower Stall.
Forward is the Owners stateroom with a Center Line Bed, Hanging Clothes Lockers and storage.
