Broker's Note

Thirteen years ago, the current owners used me to find a boat for their cruising dream. Boat buying can be a very confusing process. What's a good boat; what's a good price: who can you trust?

We started with a list of 28 boats and inspected 17 of them. The first boat they stepped aboard was the Brewer 44 and after an exhausting search, it was the boat they ultimately purchased. As a yacht broker, it is truly gratifying to successfully match clients to thier ideal boat that fulfills their dreams, desires and budget for 13 years!

To have clients that become long term friends, and brought their boat back to me to sell is rewarding beyond just making money.

The Brewer 44' has a facinating history and was an evolution of the 42' Whitby sailboat, with modifications to improve its performance and comfort for long-term cruising.

Ted Brewer designed the Whitby 42 'and it was first produced by Whitby Boat Works in Ontario, Canada, in the early 1970s. It was a popular cruising sailboat, known for its spacious interior and seaworthiness.

In the mid-1970s, the company was sold to a new owner who wanted to create a larger version of the boat. Ted Brewer was tasked with designing a new boat based on the 42' Whitby hull, but with additional features and sturdier construction. The resulting design was the Brewer 44' and costruction was moved from Canada to Ft Myers, Florida

Stargazer has kept us safe and comfortable for 13 years as we fulfilled our dreams by circumnavigating the Caribbean!

She is a fully equipped blue water boat that’s ready to go for more adventures with her new family. She’s well constructed, beautifully finished and well maintained with an annual lay up and refit so she was ready for the next season.

She has an easy to handle sail system with all lines coming back to the cockpit. The Schaefer boom roller furling system means you never leave the cockpit to reef!!

Accommodations

Stargazer provides total comfort for 6 in in 3 separate cabins including the salon.

Forward is a large chain locker with 2 deck pipes. this area is accessable by teak cabinet doors.

The guest stateroom has a large v-berth with filler to make a double. The guest cabin has lockers and drawers for more than ample storage. An overhead hatch plus an opening ports with screens provide fresh air comfort and, as with the entire interior, the guest room is completely air coditioned.

Aft to port, is a private guest head with shower that has two doors. One door leads to the guest stateroom, the other door goes into the main salon.

The main salon is beautifully finished in grain matched teak, with teak and holly sole. Recently upholstered settees to port and starboard with large center-line table. With leaves up, the salon can serve six comfortably. In highly attractive cabinets are the luxuries of color LCD TV , a stereo system, A liquor and wine cabinet also grace this area.

The U-shaped galley to port is intelligently laid out with ample counter space, two top loading refridgerator/ freezers and a double sink.

To starboard is the nav station with electric panels and navigational instruments.

Moving aft through a into the walkway is a convenient work area.

The owners' cabin featuring a queen size berth, tremendous storage, and an ensuite head with separate sit down shower. A companion way leads up to the cockpit and there is a large hatch and 4 opening ports with screens, and it, like the entire yacht, is comfortably air conditioned.
