Tom Whittington, originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, graduated from NC State with a BS in Engineering in 1972 and is still an avid ACC fan. His love of the boating lifestyle began at age six in boats and on water skis on Lake Wylie, Lake Norman and on the Chesapeake Bay. After Tom retired from Hewlett Packard, his best friend in Florida (a marina owner) convinced him to “try” and sell boats. Ten years later, Tom’s company, Manatee Pocket Yacht Sales, has eight licensed Florida Yacht Brokers as well as brokers in Connecticut and The Keys. Tom has received world-class training from Hewlett Packard and is committed to the highest standard of ethics as a Rotarian. Tom is a member of the Stuart Sunrise Rotary Club and is on the board of directors for Chapman’s School of Seamanship. His experience of closing over 500 vessels assures you a smooth buying or selling transaction. Recently, Tom was invited to join the Boats Group Advisory Board as one of fourteen representatives of business leaders in the marine industry. Boats Group LLC own YachtWorld and Boat Trader.
