Growing up in New Jersey, New England, and San Diego there were several opportunities for Chip to catch the sailing bug. It wasn’t until he moved to Austin, Texas near the shores of beautiful Lake Travis that he bought his first sailing dinghy. This boat sparked a passion for boating in general but a deeper love of sailboats, sailing, and seamanship. The next 28 years would see more than 30 keels under Chip’s feet. It was an array of boats ranging from sunfish, catamarans, and open dinghies to small keel boats and mid-size racer/cruisers, along with a handful of power boats. As these boats came and went, most of the buyers stuck around as lifelong friends. Whether through boat sales, sailing instruction, or rigging, helping people realize their sailing/boating dreams has been the most rewarding part of those 28 years. Now hailing from Stuart, Florida and thrilled to be working with the like-minded staff at Manatee Pocket Yacht Sales, Chip is really looking forward to becoming an integral part of the South Florida sailing community and helping you fulfill your sailing and power boating dreams.
