Jay grew up in Mamaroneck, New York on the waters of Long Island Sound, where he spent his summers fishing, swimming, sailing, water skiing off a 13’ Whaler and pulling lobster traps on a friends dads classic Bertram 28 Flybridge. He went on to graduate from the University Of Vermont with a BA in Art and Graphic Design, he remained in Burlington where he raised his two daughters Sydney and Natalie and spent summers boating on Lake Champlain and winters skiing at Stowe, Sugarbush and Mad River. After working for years as an entrepreneur, Jay’s passion for boating brought him into a successful career in the marine industry with Lewmar USA as an Aftermarket Sales Manager, eventually moving with his family to Guilford, Connecticut where he was promoted to Executive Vice President. He continued his love for boating racing Sonars and fishing in the LI sound and the Thimble Islands out of the Sachems Head Yacht Club. After a decade with Lewmar, he was recruited by Vetus Maxwell USA, another well known global marine equipment company. He spent 7 years with Vetus as their CEO which took him to Annapolis, Maryland where he enjoyed crewing on a J105 and cruised the Chesapeake on a refurbished Topaz 24. Most recently, he was Chief Marketing Officer at the Hinckley Company and Vice President of Hunt and Morris Yachts in Newport, Rhode Island. Jay split his time between Newport and Newburyport, Massachusetts where he currently lives with his partner Sarah and her two daughters. They enjoy spending time boating on the Merrimack River and around Plum Island. “When I was asked to join the Kadey-Krogen and Summit Motoryacht’s sales team, it was a dream come true.
